Help & FAQ

How does TwistyTrip plan a motorcycle trip?

You answer eight questions — start point, destination or "surprise me", stops along the way, days, departure date, budget, bike type and vibe. TwistyTrip routes it on real roads with professional routing, splits it into rideable days, attaches hotels with secure motorcycle parking, prices the whole thing honestly, and writes a day-by-day roadbook. About 60 seconds, start to finish.

Is TwistyTrip free?

Your first trip is free — no account, no card. A free account lets you keep trips, edit them and get weather and gear advice. Premium unlocks GPX export, the PDF roadbook, unlimited generations and inviting your riding group.

Are the routes real? Can I trust the distances?

Every kilometre comes from professional road routing — real distances, real riding time, real elevation. The AI writes the stories around that data; it never invents a road or a mountain pass. But roads close and weather turns: always check current conditions before you ride. Our Terms say this properly.

Why did my trip get more days than I asked for?

Rider well-being rules. If a day would exceed 800 km, TwistyTrip splits it with an overnight stop around the 600 km mark. Tired riders make bad trips — and worse decisions.

Can I edit a trip after it's generated?

Yes. Change stops, days or anything else and the trip regenerates. You can also swap any hotel for the alternative options without regenerating. What you can't do is make the AI rewrite a day's story on demand — trips are built once, properly.

Does the GPX file work with my navigator?

It's standard GPX with the full route per day and every stop as a named waypoint — it imports cleanly into Garmin, calimoto, Google Maps and anything else that reads GPX. Premium feature.

How does sharing work?

Premium riders can invite their riding group by link — as editors (can change hotels and stops) or viewers (can look, not touch). Invited friends join free. Everyone gets notified when the trip changes. And anyone, free or premium, can share a trip as an Instagram-ready story image.

How are the hotels picked?

Rider-first: secure motorcycle parking before anything else, then location and price. Where we've curated a town, you'll see our picks; everywhere else you get a Booking.com search with your dates prefilled. Some links earn us a commission at no cost to you — full honesty in the Affiliate Disclosure.

What about weather and gear?

Give your trip a departure date and every day shows its forecast, plus a packing list built from the actual conditions and altitudes on your route — not generic advice.

Kilometres or miles? Euros or pounds?

Both. There's a km/mi toggle on every trip, and trips that start, end or pass through the UK show prices in pounds automatically. Everyone else gets a €/£ toggle.

How do I delete a trip — or my data?

Remove any trip from your trips page; if you shared it, your friends keep their copy, and the trip is fully deleted when the last rider removes it. For your account data, see the Privacy Policy — deletion is an email away until self-service arrives.
